Door Swing Design Really Does Matter

Closet Door

This closet plan with an in-swinging door was an unfortunate part of a real project design. The door was installed as shown, which probably proves that someone can actually get into and out of the closet with the in-swinging door, at least to install the hinge pins. But the layout is not functional for the user. The change to make the door out-swinging cost $1,000 at the time. A door swing seems like such a little thing, but there can be a big difference between right and wrong.
